Turns Spanish learning upside down
If you turn Spanish sideways it turns everything about learning upside down.
You don’t have to feel intimidated by all the linguistic jargon anymore. And forget the enthusiasm killing analysis paralysis.
Instead, I’ll show you how by turning Spanish sideways you start speaking in minutes. And by using the language you learn fast.
By the way, if you’re wondering what I mean by Sideways Spanish, I explain the concept on this page. You’ll also find an audio that shows you how to use it, about half way down that page.
Once that first step is under your belt, it’s time for Sideways Spanish dos.
In this step instead of intimidating terminology like STEM CHANGING VERBS, RADICALLY CHANGING VERBS AND IRREGULAR VERBS.
We’ll just turn the verb chart sideways.
We’ll focus on one pattern and speak more Spanish. Verbs that were enemigos suddenly become your amigos, ready to help you say more with your Spanish.
Go go go and speak some Spanish now with the audio below:
| Getting By | Sideways for Fluency | Sideways for Mastery |

Hi Marcus, many thanks for your great new lesson. Everything you upload is wonderful and very very useful. JUst one question, have you uploaded the 4th part of SpanishVerbPatterns103 you mention on the 3rd part?? I don’t want to sound too eager, but I just want to make sure I haven’t missed it. Many thanks to you and take care!!
I enjoyed the sideways spanish lesson. What would make it easier would be to see the word spelling in spanish as the translator speaks so one can see where the emphasis goes and the word gets imprinted on the mind.
I am still working through the basic course but I think your approach really is the best i have tried to date.
Thanks
Ian
I found the lessons to be a great help, making it easier for me to get my thoughts across to the other person, like my soon to be wife..lol
thanks
Thanks so much Marcus & Eleana. Your stuff is always the very best and great learning. Bless you both. Maree.
Hi Marcos you are helping me a lot,I have lived in spain for 6 years and am finding it hard to grasp the language.I would like to see the written word to accompany the lesson because sometimes its hard to grasp the word without seeing it.Thanks for helping me though,I find its been a good help.Sue
Marcus. I started using your Spanish Coruse in 2008 but then I stopped studying for a year or so. I now live in Spain and have gone back to using the course. I am on lesson 19. I find it fantastic. This morning I looked at your sideways verbs and it’s amazing. I meet with a group of English and Spanish speaking people twice a week. The English speakers help the Spanish with English and visa versa. They were all wondering how I am so fluent in such a short time. When I started with the group I was only living in Spain a month. All the other English Speaking people where in Spain for 10 and 15 years. They also can not believe how good my accent is. I have told them all about you course. I love it. I will be 71 in May so you see an old dog can learn new tricks. Thanks so much. Tengo que salgir ahora. Mary.
I like the approach. Salgo, pongo, vengo, that is great.
Hi,
For whatever reason, I am unable to download the mp3 files. I don’t normally have this problem. I can’t download uno o dos. Is there another solution? Possibly a stand alone file.
Bill
Lo siento. No puedo escuchar solamento diezysiete palabras.

Muchas gracias Marcus por el email – I am a pensioner and live alone and so appreciate your audio lessons. The sideways Spanish is soooooo helpful and enables me to comprehend Spanish a lot better.
Keep the Emails coming. Salgo tambien con mis amigos los Vienes.
Gracias Marcus – I am revising Synergy Spanish and have found these two lessons very helpful. It would be good if Elena read a passage of Spanish using the words from the lesson so that I could see if I understood it.
thank you.,.,.,muchos gracias .,.,,. lecion esta muy intersante.,,..,muy claro
You just cleared up in 10 minutes, verbs I’ve been struggling with for 10 years.
Thankyou Marcus

Dear Marcus

Thanks Marcus.

For some unknown reason, Marcus, I am unable to download Lesson 2. Tried several times! ¡No suerte hasta ahora!
I managed to download at long last. Yes managed to complete the Lesson 2. I agree that one most definitely needs to repeat the lesson to make it sink in! Very many thanks, Marcus.
Muchas gracias por sua leccion de espanol ! I find it very effective in learning Spanish.
Although I am already a student of “Bola de Nieve” this Lesson 2, reinforced my ability to speak like a native (i.e. without hesitation). Like the others above, I had touble to download it, but was O.K. after 4 attempts. Thank you Marcus. What comes after “Bola de Nieve”?
Thank you very much for everything you had send me so far . It is very helpful . But it needs time to practice. I try to find time for it . Thank you again.

Muchas gracias por las lecciónes, es muy efectivo y bien.
hi marcus yust like to say ,i was having problems with my spanish but u have made it so clearer for me to comprehend spanish a lot better now
Hi Marcus, I have been listening to your audio lessons and reading all of your e-mails and they have been very helpful for me to pick up the Spanish language with ease. I do have to agree with Sue that while listening to the audio lessons it would be great to see the words to make sure that I am saying them correctly and it also helps ingrain them into my mind much faster. My boyfriend has an iphone with a Spanish tutorial on it which you can see and hear the words and sentences and then have quizzes for each category. I passed each one with 100% and I really think that is being able to see AND hear. If there is any way possible for you to add the visual that would be great!!!
Thanks!
Diane

This is the best way I have found to learn Spanish . I have tried lot’s of different ways but the combination of transcript in English and practice in Spanish pronunciation makes you feel more confident It’s so easy to take in and remember ,I can not wait till the next lesson arrives .
Moira.
Hi Marcus I am really enjoying your lessons. I am able to speak more Spanish now than ever before. I have loads of Spanish course books but non have helped me as much as your teaching. Thank you very much
Martha
Marcus. I am really just ‘taking Spanish’ for the fun of it. I took a Basic Spoken Spanish course at our local Community College(at age 65) and FELL IN LOVE with the language. I didn’t want to get caught up in lots of grammar, so the word BASIC in the title caught my fancy. This college course was my first exposure to Spanish. In High School I shyed away from it because…guess what…I thought to myself..”Any language that has and uside down question mark at the BEGINNING of a sentence, just wasn’t for me!” Eeeks..But youth, ya know!! The college course I took was an eye opener and truly gave me a spirit for wanting to learn MORE. I came across you ‘work’ and have been pacing myself DELIGHTFULLY through it. I have no pressure and I probably could do more. But..I’m love’n it. Thank you with all my heart for putting all this together. I am the owner of SYNERGY SPANISH with audio AND workbook, my best way to learn. I wrote you recently to ask if you would consider being a speaker/teacher for The Ultimate Life Company. ULC is forming an Ultimate Life Learning Center in the near future. They will have MANY refresher type courses in additon to their current offerings.
I hope its ok to share with readers, so they can keep ahead of what’s in the offing for ULC.
You and they can simply go to the Landing Page at http://www.UltimateLifeCompany.com/LP1Marketing/1323. It would be WONDERFUL to have you on board, especially when/while ULC Learning Center is in the development stage. And it won’t be long before it is opened up to the WORLD. Again thanks for EVERYTHING.
It’s a very good idea approaching conjugation in this sideways method – very helpful. Thanks so much for your tips.
You are by far the best teacher I have come accross. You explain it all so easily. I am learning so much grammar without even realizing it. Thankyou very much.
Ti´s nice to learn from u. At list with this l will soon speak spanish without fear. l love that.
I am going through again both courses: Shortcut to Spanish and Syneregy Spanish. What will be my next logical step with you? There is NO comparison with your method and my high school college and one class about 5 yrears ago. I Can’t believe how quickly I could speak. I know I will be struggeling with the hearing part> The grammer ruined it for me in all but your course. I am glad you wefe born, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARCUS.

The next step in your sequence is Bola de Nieve.
Saludos, Marcus
Great follow-up to Synergy Spanish obtained several months ago.

Sideways Spanish is superb I have been struggling to be fluent in Spanish studying The Open University course Portales. However once I have mastered sideways Spanish I will be on my way to speaking fluently.
Thank you Marcus
Asolutely brilliant your lesson has made so much come together but unfortunately like some of the others I cannot download lesson dos.
I think you site and material, particularly the method of presentation is great, but then I’ve already told you that. But this audio – while I like it, my personal thought is that if the material spoken in Spanish is too shallow. I’m sure the speaker’s doing a perfect job of his or her part, but the voice, timber may be the word I’m striving for, but a deeper tone would be much nicer (I think), and lastly if the speaker were to say twice over the spanish might help. I know we can not have that in conversation, but this is also ‘learning’ and I think it would be helpful. Maybe just me, but if he were availble, I’d prefer to listen and try to learn from Robert Goulet’s voice. It was deeper and very good projection.
Ciao

(Keep in mind I admit to being an old coot and opinionated to boot!)
Love your courses and my spanish is coming on really well. Started them in January and have learned more from your courses – and remember it – than I did with several years of trying with other books and tapes! I live in Spain now and can usually get by OK with talking about the present and future but struggle with the past. I guess you have a sideways approach to this too which I can not find.
Also, please dont change the speaker’s voice. I think its just right!
Muchas gracias! i love your way of presenting this course . Es muy agradable no es aburido.
thanks for the lessons you send, they are very helpful to me.please continue to send.thanking you in anticipation.
Hi. Thank you very much for the Sideway approach to the verbs, this is very helpful and please keep them coming.
Muchas gracias
Sandy
I really like it; it’s the best linguistic methodology I’ve ever seen, with this in application we can only speak.
realy i must tell you that this great lessons ever since my learning,is very helpful ,and i understand this very fast, thank you very much, but pls i would like to get more audio sideways,GOD will bless you and your family for making this more easier, for people that is intrested on the spanish learning
Hola Marcus …slowing I’m learning spanish through words by books not by hearing through tapes/audio because I’m partly deaf. I just have a question for you ..I’ve noticed which I’m confuse about the word ” I’m ” in either estoy or tengo. Why is there 2 different words for the same meaning?? Can you please tell me what the difference is. Thanks.
Debbie
Truly innovative. Muchas gracias Marcus!! I have been trying to get to grips with Spanish since I was 11 and I’m 54 now!! I love the language and you are making it so much easier for me without feeling like I’m studying at all.
