Bienvenidos - Welcome Synergy Spanish Graduates to the Informal Dialogs lessons
Hola Amigos
After I created Synergy Spanish, I quickly realized I was onto something special with this new approach to learning Spanish.
So many people wrote to me about their success and told me they now realize they really can learn to speak Spanish. Even people who had tried for years without success were finding they could actually speak the language.
When I started creating Synergy Spanish I never expected it to make such an impact and even change people’s lives, especially those living in Spanish speaking countries.
Once people got a taste of success and the confidence that they finally could communicate in this beautiful language, they just couldn’t get enough.
The requests to make the next level of Synergy Spanish were overwhelming.
Frankly, I could easily have cashed in and thrown anything out there to make money, like so many publishers do. However, I believe I have a gift to share. I don’t know where it comes from but my way of teaching brings out the best in people’s minds.
So instead I spent a long time researching.
Then I took a small group and started developing a follow up course that would build on the momentum of Synergy Spanish and lead towards fluency in Spanish.
I’ve been with that group for the best part of a year now. We’ve been creating not just a new course but a complete system to develop fluency in Spanish.
The course is called Bola de Nieve, which means snowball in Spanish, Your Spanish grows and grows, getting bigger as easily as a cartoon snowball rolling downhill.
I’ll be sharing parts of Bola de Nieve with you soon. However, for now I wanted to get back in touch with you and give you the chance to add some new momentum to your Spanish.
That’s why I am giving Synergy Spanish graduates the Informal Dialogs course free.
It’s an extra piece of the puzzle that will improve the way you interact with your amigos de habla hispana (Spanish speaking friends).
So, why not get started right now, as the saying goes, “a journey of a thousand mile starts with a single step”…
One last thing before you log in, please leave a comment here on the blog, I’d be delighted to hear from you.
Muchos saludos

I’ve never seen a course like synergy spanish before that can enable someone to learn spanish so quickly and easily!!!!
It’s wonderfull.
I’ve tried “Rocket Spanish” and “Learning Spanish Like Crazy”. Both are nice but when it comes to speed nothing beats your method for speaking spanish instantly!!!!
So back to the first question when does synergy spanish teach me how to speak in the past and future tense?????????
Thanks for all the help, Ren
Hi Marcus,
I have just finished Synergy Spanish. I am very impressed with the simplicity and clarity of your course. It makes learning exceptionally simple. I had tried several other methods and just didn’t get anywhere. The structure and direction just wasn’t there in the same way as your course. I love the way your course makes una persona quiere aprender cuanto antes. Mi esposa y me encanta estudiar el español todos los dias en la mañana y en la noche. Nos esperanza tu mantenerse hacer mas clases de español!
Gracias !

Hi Marcus
I’m currently working my way through Synergy Spanish. I find that the audio together
with the written work help me to remember the Spanish much easier than using just
the written work.
Keep up the good work!
Gracias!
Gail
Hi Marcus
I`ve been working through synergy spanish and all the other treats you`ve sent out, for nearly 2 years now. I am just on the last lesson and I was going to email you to ask what comes next, when Lo! You sent me the free informal lessons. It`s as if someone somewhere is planning out my progression.
I am loving learning to speak spanish. Thankyou so much.
Marcus,
Please, future and past tenses. I don’t want to study with anyone else. Ayudanos!
Hola Marcus,
As a Spanish teacher, one of the bigger disappointments I encounter is when adults say, “Oh! You teach Spanish? I studied for two years in high school and can’t speak a word of it.”
Now, when I meet adults who seriously desire to speak Spanish, I refer them to Synergy Spanish. It is the fastest method I’ve found for bumping a person into successful conversation mode. In addition, it fosters a huge component: confidence. Moreover, I like the ways you infuse grammar painlessly. Synergy Spanish does for Spanish beginners what Piano for Quitters does for pianist wanna-bes like me. Both skip the convoluted swamps that mire neophytes and help transport us to the places we want to be.
Best wishes always,
Vicki
Dear Marcus:
I really enjoy your format. Keep up the good work.
Fred
Marcus,
I really am enjoying speaking and learning Spanish, cannot believe how much I have improved in such a short time.
Gracias
Hola Marcus, Synergy Spanish is simply the best by far. Lets have level 3 a.s.a.p
I am so happy to hear that we get to continue on with your lessons. I can not believe how much better I am doing with my Spanish and I am sure that our employees are even more grateful. It sure makes their life’s a lot easier.
I actually felt lost, when I was finished with the course. I was going to have to back to my snails pace of learning again. Like everyone else here, I can not wait until you do the past tense. I would also love to just be able to keep building up my Spanish as in Synergy Spanish.
By the way , your new male speaker actually has me rolling my rrrr’s !!!!!
Informal Synergy Spanish has been really good. We’re getting ready to leave for the mission field in Honduras on Aug 26, 2008. I feel like I have a good grasp on the language so far. I’m utilizing all the tools and tips you’ve been sending. Keep ‘em coming. Golden
Marcus - I’ve always wanted to be the best at something and now I am. I believe I am your best fan!!! I’ve done all the spanish courses you have produced and the wonderful thing is I can converse with my son who is a BA in Spanish and has also just completed his Masters at Manchester University and he is proud to have a mum who is speaking spanish. Of course, now when I visit Spain I am not afraid to speak spanish and I find that native spanish speakers are thrilled that I try and applaud when I speak correctly and help me when I don’t.
You have given me the confidence to do this. Gracias amigo!
Marcus,
Your talent for creating gem courses from simple building blocks is unique. I guess that is how a diamond if created, now that I thing of it.
I have purchased and completed all your other courses, and relish the thought of digging into another (or more?) of your courses.
Keep up the grea work.
Hi, This is the first course that has helped me, I am actually speaking spanish and understanding what is being said back to me. Great work, thank you Keith
Hey Marcus,
When I was first introduced to your course and I saw all these comments about how good your course was,I said “Yeah, right”. Then I tried the free samples and bougth the “shortcut to spanish. I was having so much fun, and learning so rapidly. I then got the synergy even before finishing the first course.
Wow! I learnt so much in so little time. Now I am having Spanish conversations online with people who knows little or no English. Thank you so much!
Dear Marcus,
I did not have a problem with putting your Informal dialog audio lessons on CDs, however, the volume seemed to be very low. We checked out the volume setting on the computer and it was OK. When I put the CD in my CD player, the volume was loud enough and if we wanted to make it louder, we could have.
I love your course.
Loretta Hickey
Hi Marcus,
I have not encountered any problems with downloading the “Informal Synergy Spanish”. The course itself is, like all your others, very good. I have found your method of teaching spanish simply the best. I looked at some of those other courses freely awailable on the internet you mentioned in one of your newsletter but realised very soon that they do not suit me. Enjoy rather repeating Synergy Spanish, Informal Spanish and Shortcut to Spanish 1&2. I was very pleased to receive Informal Synergy Spanish and now I look forward to the release of your next course.
Best regards,
Chris
Let me know when your next course is available. I have Learning Spanish Like Crazy, but because I am a visual learner, I learn much more quickly when I can read, write, listen, and speak the words. I try to use LSLC, but always return to your course as I can actually form sentences.
When will the past and future tenses with practice tapes and books be available?
Linda
I have had no trouble and love the bonus material. Well done and great stuff!
Thanks
I too have enjoyed your synergy spanish hugely. I agree there are a number of glitches in the latest informal spanish, including missing material in the second lesson,and- I think- the lessons are not in the correct order.
Neverthe less I am enjoying, and nearly finished it and the glitches do not semm to matter.
i look forward to continuing
Brian Jones
I love your follow up with a dialogue from synergy spanish. Your method is the best. I have invested in alot of other courses and I continue to come back to yours. Thank you again and again! Nancy
A mi me gusta mucho Espanol Informal. Gracias, senor.
Marcia
Hello Marcus,
I didn’t have a problem. I have completed the lessons. I am HIGHLY impressed. I am speaking with such ease. I am continuing to exand my word comprehension. Your program method is right on the spot for getting the Spanish deep in your memory, so that it becomes nature. I will look forward to your next lessons.
Thank you so much,
Michael
Hola Amigos
I took my first trip to Mexico in 2003 and fell in love with the place. I met many warm Mexican people there but I realized in order to form closer bonds I would have to become more fluent with the the Spanish language. When I came back from that first trip I began searching for a course to learn Spanish. I enrolled at a language center affiliated with the university in the city I live in and completed level III. Also at the same time enrolled in other courses offered with other groups. I purchased Spanish with Michel Thomas, Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, Instant Immersion Spanish and others but for me I never quite felt I was getting it until I came across Short Cut To Spanish and things just fell into place. I went on to purchase Short Cut To Spanish II, Synergy Spanish and Shortcut To Spanish Informal Spanish Conversations. After that the email offers became confusing and I wasn’t sure was was new material and what wasn’t so I lost interest. I am starting to get the urge again and I am hoping you can clearly define all the individual course you have so I am assured that I have all available productions. It seems that the bola de nieve is a new yet to be released course which I of course would be interested in.
My husband and I have had one lesson a week for the past two years, we have now cancelled and I am concentrating on your lessons, they are truly easier to understand however as my other e mail to you I am becoming confused with the different titles given for the courses and I am not sure which one I am on synergy or what? perhaps I have brain overload but could the lessons just be labelled 1,2,3, etc so each one would be listed in order on the computer. Or perhaps its just me, sorry. But your teaching method is terrific and so easy to follow. Many thanks, I am living in Spain where there are so many English that I dont get to hear much native spanish except at my riding stables, I am able to ask the odd question but when I hear the very fast reply spoken in spanish I am stumped as I just cannot identify individual words spoken back to me at speed. Any suggestions?
Hi Marcus, First of all, a very big thank you for the new free course, just what I needed to keep me motivated. I havn’t had time to check out the audio tracts yet, hopefully they will be OK.I can’t do more than reiterate all the favourable comments your other students have given, I heartally agree with them.
Have you come across “Live Mocha”free computer course, I have been trying it, a useful suplement to yours as you get the chance to interact with other students, but not nearly as much fun or use as yours. Thank you again, Jane Noble
hola
i am interesting to continu this program
I am amazed at how much I have learned and how much I enjoy learning - I like to practice about I hour everyday - I have tried rocket spanish but am unable to progress the way I do with your courses - Looking forward to Bola de Neive. When can I get it?
thank you for your interesting courses,
Louise
Hola Marcus,
Your Synergy Spanish lessons are great and easy to learn. I enoyed learning the lessons tremendously. Looking forward for more lessons. How about past or future tense lessons?
Marcus,
I appreciate the Synergy Formal & Informal Courses a lot. The Spanish is becming more natural to me. What I think I need now to focus on some more is the past and future tenses and the reflexive verbs. I wait for the rest!!!!
Gracias, Senor!
Hi Marcus,
Thank you for your informal Dialogs course. I had no trouble with the downloading. I like it very much and also the voice of Jose Luis.
Sven
Hola Marcus,
I have purchased both Shortcut to Spanish & Synergy Spanish due to my trip to Peru last year (2007) and my trip to Peru & Mexico this year (2008). I have also downloaded the supplementary courses you provided including Feliz Navidad and Dos de Mayo, maybe you could think about a course for 28 de Julio for Peru’s day of Independence. I am working my way through them a second time as I have been doing other classes and volunteer work in Peru. However, I always get comments after doing a re-fresher with Synergy Spanish as to how my Spanish has improved. I also like the fact the I can play/use the course on both Windows & Mac OSX as I have a Apple MacBook that also runs Windows XP. The only challenging thing for me is that some of your download files have duplicate names and also don’t always correspond to the lesson description. Being an IT person and software developer I know it can be difficult to change all the web-links to files etc, however if you like I can burn you a copy of all the course material I have which is iTunes ready.
Muchas Gracias for your great course!! I look forward to Synergy Spanish 2.
Buena Suerte
Duane
Marcus:
I have downloaded the audio transcript. I am having difficulty with the audio portion and have not downloaded this as yet.
I am going through the Synergy course for the 2nd time and its amazing how much more I am getting from lthis course.
I will be an immediate subscriber to the new Bola de Nieve course.
Donald
Marcus I think you have hit on what most of us who are approaching fluency require and that is practice in comprehension. I/ do not believe there is any substitute for speaking and listening to the language at normal speed. Thanks agian./Henry
Hola Marcus,
Thank you for everything so far, I never thought I would love learning a language so much. I downloaded all the audio from Synergy Spanish on to my ipod and I learn no matter what I am doing……like yesterday, I was gardening. For anyone that has trouble opening the audio and has an ipod maybe this will help. Just save the lesson, send one lesson at a time to your desk top, open itunes, drag the lesson on to it. You can then listen to Marcus till your little hearts content…..lol. Can hardly wait until Bola de Nieve comes out, oh and loved the part where you got your wife to call you a very hansom Austrilian man, I had to stop hovering to hear if she whould laugh. Seriously though….thank you for everything, this means so much to me.
Marcus,
Forgot to put my name on the above message….lo siento
Marie
Hola Marcus
Thank you for your lessons. I have struggled for 7 years and, being an older person, could not find my ‘Spanish ear’! Your audio lessons have helped so much. The latest Bola de Nieve audio lessons are excellent.
Gracias, Barbara
Hola Marcus, Wow am I impressed. My husband Mike and I spend an hour a day learning synergy spanish and we are really enjoying it. We retired from our jobs last February and spent three months in a mountain village in Spain. The only way to converse was in Spanish as there was no English spoken by the locals. When we came back we decided we had to learn and came across your course and we are so impressed with it. We are going back to the same village in Spain in October and looking forward to being able to converse with the locals. Well done and thanks.
Dear Marcus
How much my wife and I appreciate Synergy Spanish. We can now speak to our Spanish neighbours and they understand us OK. We find that the words (palabras) we have learned we often pick up in the course of listening to them BUT where we have not heard a word before it often causes us to lose the context. I think your informal Spanish will also assist on that.
We look forward to progressing on to Bola de nieve and that is not bad for two octagenarians!!
Have lived in Spain for nearly four years but the last year saw our linguistic ability soar - thanks to you.
Keep up the good work and how about a supplement of words that are different to LA Spanish?
Yours sincerely BILL LISTER
Hello Marcus,
Many thanks for the S/S Informal Dialogs, it is really good and easy to understand, and our Spanish friends and neighbours are pleased we have stopped being so formal with our USTED.
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT COURSE…….AND SPANISH EAR

I just love all the lessons.
I could not wait to get each lesson with synergy, lots of my friends are also enjoying and improving their Spanish really fast .I am now looking forward to this course .
Many thanks for your lessons and great look new site
Marcus,
I bought Synergy Spanish in the hope of learning a few words of Spanish prior to going on vacation to Argentina which we are now currently enjoying. Thanks to your well structured course, I learned a lot more than I expected in 5 or 6 weeks. I am really looking forward to your subsequent course, Bola de Nieve when it’s available.
I’ve had no trouble down loading the Informal Dialogues audio.
Thanks very much for making this learning so enjoyable.
Regards
Rob Graham
Hi Marcus,
I think all of your courses are wonderful. I studied at night school for 1 year and was extremely muddled. I came across your courses last february starting with shortcut to Spanish and now I am doing Synergy Spanish which I think is excellent. I have a daughter living in Spain who is married to a Spaniard and I want to be able to Speak to my son in laws parents as they speak no English. Each time I go back they can understand me more, and I can u;nderstand them.. The Spanish people love it if you try to learn their language, and almost always try to help you. I enjoyed Informal Spanish, thank you, and I am looking forward to any new lessons you may provide.
Many thanks again
Christine
Hola Marcus, your Audio worked fine for me so I downloaded on my iPod and listen, listen and listen….it’s good practice. But I am still waiting for Synergy Spanish Level 3 here. I don’t feel I finish after SS 2, there are more to learn. What about he/she, they/we in past tense & future.
On the other hand, with your S 1 & 2, I actually be able to make sentences, I just have to mix and match and practice with some and each time I speak English, I translate that in Spanish in my mind by using your knowledge and ……..presto!
I even created Spanish for non spanish speaking monthly meeting, get together and speaking Spanish while having lunch or coffee. I also bring Spanish speaking person to help.
Voy a ir a Mexico el proximo dos anos. Hope to see you there.
Hola Marcus,
thank you very much for all the matterial that you have send so far. I have been attending many courses of languages, but nothing compares to yours. It is so easy to learn Spanish this way. I wish you spoke more languages and could do this type of the course in yet another languages. As I work as a cabin crew, any language I learn is plus in my job and also personal life. Iam looking forward to the next course:)
I have loved the SS course - the best and I have looked at quite a few. As mentioned above would like to see more on verb conjugation - past and future - thank you for your course.
hello marcus,
We ,my husband and I , have been hard working students of yours for what seems a very long time ,we started out thinking we would learn Spanish over this winter and then hay ho have a chat with our new neighbers , but alas soon found out it was going to be harder than first we thought, since starting on your course just over 3 years ago. We have visted Mexico three times as well as the USA. As we live in Spain, where we have had a lot of field experance we feel it is going to take a little longer even with the invaluable help of your input as well as the courses themselves. We all know how good your methods are but what I ,we would like to say to your other students that are finding the going slow and a little difficult , dont give up , keep at it, you are not on your own and believe me it is ,vale la penna, worth the trouble.
yours sincerely john and susan stent.
Hello Marcus!
I’m a little confused as to when your next course will be available. I noticed the announcement dated November, 2007, and of course it is now August, 2008.
At any rate I, along with many others apparently, await the next course.
I am not having a problem receiving the information via the internet, other than finding time to do the course. Summer is a busy time, with travels and obligations! I am enjoying the dialogs and the written work. Thanks for all your efforts.
Moira
I am a new student in Spanish and look farword to becoming far more proficient. Marcus ,I am very excited about your new programs.
Have found the Informal dialogs of significant help to me. Keep up the good work!
Hola Marcus,
it is so good to hear from you again. I am so glad you continue with the courses, as the synergy Spanish is such a great idea.
I listen to Synergy Spanish while I drive. Over and over again. Even though I know the material, I grow more proficient with each listen. I am desperate to become fluent, so you probably can’t name a Spanish Course I haven’t tried. Many are good, but I prefer your teaching method. If there is anyway you can ease us (Synergy Spanish students) into “reflexive”, “past” and “future”. We would be eternally grateful. :-). You rock. God Bless.
Started your Synergy Spanish course last year and then visited Spain in October. Initially, faced with having to use what I had learned I promptly forgot everything. Later things got better but I am now more determined than ever to strive to be able to converse more fluently, especially with regard to “rapido Espanjol”. Have found your courses to be most helpful. Many thanks.
¡Hola!

Hi Marcus,
Thanks for all of your help, i have been learning with your free lessons and have really progressed, what i want to know is What extra benefit will i get by signing up to the member program. I am thinking that if the free stuff is so good i must be missing out big time by not becoming a full member. I am going to Spain for a month at the end of Aug and can’t wait to practice all i have learnt on my poor unsuspecting Spanish neighbours.
Thanks again
To a teacher ‘muy simpático.
Hoi Marcus
I really enjoy these courses. Every day I study a lot and fortunately I am making.prgress.
Next week I am going to Alicante in Spain.
I hope to practice the knowledge of all the words you teached me.
my daughter has a house in Javea, and she invited us to see her.
With many thanks for your splendid courses,
your sincerely,
Arnaud Voragen.
Rotterdam. August 12
Enjoyed the informal dialogs.
Looking forward to Bola de nieve.
I have kept my Spanish alive for many years, but I have never advanced it so well as with your cds in my car. The simplicity of your format forces me to speak up before the woman speaks it, and no other studies have aided my enunciation as much.
Keep up the good work,
Marty
It is a fantasitc course. It takes you so well along and you enjoy and learn in the process automatically.

Glad you sent this new chance.
Glad you sent this new chance. I hope this will get me going again.
Thank you for these courses!
I have now been studying almost a year, both regularly and also irregularly but this way to learn makes it easy to continue all the time. I am not afraid of saying or writing in Spanish when needed and now I am looking forward our one-week-holiday in Spain in September.
Thank you very very much!
With kind regards,
Martina from Finland
Hola Marcus,
I studied your course every day for 6 weeks then went to beautiful Valencia for a holiday and was able to communicate with the locals. It was fantastic I couldn’t believe at how well I had progressed as I did not know one word of Spanish before this. I have not had much time recently to keep up my studies every day but will start again as soon as possible. Marcus thankyou for making it so easy to learn this beautiful language you are a very special person.
Kind regards,
Take care
Gayeanne from New Zealand.
Hi Marcus,
I am truly enjoying your lessons. I have been studying Spanish for some time but non of the courses I took tought me as much as I have learned from yours. You make the lessons easy and fun.
Thank you for providing this fantastic opportunity for your student to learn this wonderful language quickly. I am amaized at your generousity.
Looking forward to more lessons.
Joyfully,
Janet Yeremian
Hi Marcus,
Can’t wait for the past tenses!! Keep it coming
Thanks
Joanne
Hey Marcus, My wife and I have been spending our evenings going through Synergy Spanish. I want you to know that we had tried a different and well known course that simply left use frustrated. I told my wife that if we could find a course that would teach us the verbs and how to use them in a sentence, then we could build our noun vocab. around that…By the grace of God, we stumbled onto your website and now we feel so confident with our ability to learn spanish. We’re now working on the informal lessons that you sent….we can’t get enough. Please hurry with more Synergy spanish!! Thanks, Terry.
tks for the effort you put in here I appreciate it!
Hi Marcus
I started studying Synergy Spanish nearly three years ago and made wonderful progress initially. Speaking Spanish was easy (or so I thought). The trouble was that I could not understand a word of what the Spanish speakers were saying. Most of the verbs were totally unrecognisable in the conjugated forms, countless nouns difficult to remember and a grammar complicated and very different to English. There are also hundreds of rules which are almost impossible to remember. I need to get back to listening to your tapes which somehow makes progress that much easier.
Regards, John.
Hola, Marcus
I just celebrated my 69th birthday. My goal is to make my 70′ my Spanish the major gain. December of 09 I decided to abandoned learning Spanish in the traditional format. The hours and hours of studying Latin earlier in my long ago hours of studying Latin earned me a fabulous basic vocabulary in English and Latin. Also, I developed a well trained ear for pronouncing Spanish. MY POINT IS: If you had decided to apply your method of teaching Spanish to teaching Latin, no doubt I would be bilingual in Latin and Spanish by this time. Thank you for discovering your gifts, but more importantly for your generosity in sharing that gift with those who are language challenged.
MOST IMPORTANT COMMENT: I was literally laughed at when I told my wife and a few friends that I was committing to leaning to speak Spanish (they didn’t hear me emphasize “speaking’) . They all gave the same reason why I was doomed to fail: YOU ARE TOO OLD!
The word Ignorant means: lacking knowledge. Your technique erases “too old”. Marcus I am deep into your Synergy Spanish…need more time, but moving forward. In need a snow ball push to get over the wall and really speak Spanish, please put me on your next list.
Sincerely
John McEvoy
